Secret date spots in Perth

When you're in a new city and have some time to yourselves, be it away from the kids, away from work or just free from everyday stresses, a good date night (or day) is the perfect way to celebrate! There are so many things to do in Perth that make great dates, from water-based activities to picnics, we have found something to suit any taste.

Picnic in Kings Park
Pack a picnic and head to Kings Park where you can enjoy the views over the city, Swan River & South Perth or take a stroll through the botanical gardens. If you want to add an extra romantic touch, from December to March there is an open air cinema so you can snuggle up and settle in for an evening.

Go star gazing
For something a little different, take your special someone to the Perth Observatory, Australia's oldest continuously operating observatory. Located just out of the CBD, this is the perfect place to take a romantic look at the moon and the stars.

Dine at Low Key Chow House
For the time when you want to keep your date night low key, there is Low Key Chow House. This place is home to some of the best Asian fusion in Perth, with a local favourite being the Mantou Buns - fluffy treats served with candied caramel pork belly, crushed peanuts and cucumber. Most menu items are perfect for sharing - perfect for a couple!

Paddle board in Fremantle
If you're up for a bit of exercise and fun on the water, hire a couple of stand up paddle boards from one of the may suppliers in Fremantle and hit the water. It is not as easy as it looks but it is always a lot of fun trying to keep upright. A great way to break the ice (or the water in this case) on a date!

Wine tasting in the Swan Valley
Just 30 minutes out of the Perth CBD, the Swan Valley has plenty of vineyards to visit. Download the Swan Valley Food & Wine Map and travel in your own car or take a tour with a group to explore the region. While you taste your way through the valley, pick up a bottle of your favourite and enjoy it with dinner.
