Everything You Need to Know About the Rugby League World Cup

14 teams, 1 trophy and a winning streak Australia wants to defend: this is rugby league at its competitive best.

Coming to Melbourne on October 27th - when Australia takes on England - and again on November 19th for a quarter final, the Rugby League World Cup promises a great night out for any avid sports fan.

Australia has taken home the honours 10 times in the contest’s 64 year history, leaving its closest competitor – Great Britain – in the dust, with only three titles under their belt. We’re not going to lie: it’s always nice to see an Aussie team do well.

Both the comp’s Melbourne matches are being played at AAMI Park, handily located an equal distance from both the city centre and South Yarra. Avoid the hassle of being stuck in traffic on game day by booking yourself in to one of the spacious serviced apartments at Adina Flinders Street or Adina South Yarra, both of which are a 10 minute tram ride or 20 minute walk from the stadium – something that will be just as useful on the way home.

The other big drawcard of these Adina locations is that they’re right in the middle of some of Melbourne’s best suburbs, from the laneways and nightlife of the city centre to the gastronomic glory of South Yarra. This means that while the World Cup might be the impetus for your visit, there are plenty of reasons to extend your stay either side of game day.
