Top 5 Things to do in St Kilda this Spring

Spring is just around the corner and no Melbourne suburb is more excited than beachy St Kilda, which has filled up its calendar with a bunch of awesome events. Here are out top picks.

1. Hit up Listen Out

Australia’s best dance music festival is back on tour and the beautiful Catani Gardens in St Kilda is the lucky Melbourne venue. Taking place on September 23, this year’s line-up includes some of the best names in the business, from Future to PNAU.

2. Plug in to The Switch

For a festival of a different kind, check out The Switch on October 13. It’s set to be Australia’s biggest silent disco and comes complete with multiple channels (we’re most excited for the one dedicated to tunes from the 80s, 90s and naughties), Melbourne’s favourite food trucks and a bunch of amusement rides, perfect when you feel like a break from busting out your best moves.

3. Check out new kid on the block Supernormal Canteen

Despite only opening its doors in late July, Andrew McConnell’s newest venue is already a big hit. Located on Fitzroy Street, right next door to Adina Apartment Hotel St Kilda, it’s a Japanese-Korean-Chinese diner with a small but ever-changing menu. Think sashimi, yakitori and dumplings washed down with Japanese beer and sake in an uber-cool setting.

4. See Michael Mosley Live On Stage

The award winning documentary maker and brain behind the famous 5:2 diet is coming to the Palais Theatre on September 10 to talk all things health related. He’ll bust myths, share findings from exciting experiments and also hold a Q&A session so you can ask specifics.

5. Relive the magic with Potterfest: A Harry Potter Marathon

Yep, we’re talking all eight Harry Potter films back to back. 2017 is the 20th anniversary of JK Rowling’s first blockbuster novel and the Astor Theatre is going all out. Costumes are encouraged, caffeine will probably be necessary and there’s a stack of prizes to be given out over the epic 20+ hour session.
